Those who resided in New York City or any of the nation's population-dense metropolitan environments around the turn of the millennium probably remember the transformation: Seemingly overnight, the time-tested four-door sedan limousine disappeared from the urban landscape, replaced by full-size SUVs as the luxury transport vehicle of choice for upscale car services. With their spacious interiors, their sturdy truck-based chassis (better suited for navigating aging infrastructure), and automakers' collective decision to cull the herd of suitable sedans, it seemed the natural selection of evolution was at work.

Ram's high-riding, heavy-duty Power Wagon has an undeniable cool factor that's eclipsed only by its off-road capability. It's also undeniably expensive, with a starting price a hair north of $76,000, and that's before you add modern trimmings by way of pricey options packages. But if all you're after is the off-road hardware, there's a lesser-known configuration that can deliver the goods while making the trip to the finance department less painful.

When a colleague asks Lars Moravy, Tesla's vice president of vehicle engineering, about the new 81-kWh battery in the 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance, the lights flicker. He speeds off into a rant. "The updated cell has new tabs and cathodes, and the jelly roll is constructed of a lithium-uranium paste that sits in a pool of Mercon V and is cooled by Dex-Cool—not the yellow kind, but the orange. In all, it's the same size and mass with more energy." Moravy is a human data center. We're certain he needs 1.4 gigawatt-hours of mental capacity just to retain this amount of information.

When Logan first drove the Mercedes-Benz CLE300, he didn't quite fall in love with it, and Amber didn't like the CLE she drove either. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with that, but in this case, it's Mercedes. Luxury coupes and convertibles are Mercedes' thing. Plus, Logan is nine feet tall, and Amber lives in New York City. Maybe the CLEs they drove were just the wrong cars for them. Surely I, a proper grand touring appreciator, just needed the right CLE and the right road trip, and I'd be singing the new tweener two-door's praises until everyone started to get annoyed with it.
