Heavy lies the crown. Sunday night’s brutal, devastating episode of House of the Dragon certainly made that point abundantly clear. As Rhaenyra slowly descends into a pit of despair, cruelty and desperation, Daemon and his armies run into some snags on their assault of Tumbleton thanks to the various tricks Lord Ormund has up his sleeves. A couple big problems persist, which I’ll get to below, but overall, this was a tremendously entertaining episode of a series that often spends much more time in dramatic dialogue than in clashes of arms.
