The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions in 4K Are on Sale for Only $15 at Amazon for a Limited Time
I used to have that chunky red, blue, and green Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD boxed set. I loved that thing. I watched the whole trilogy a bunch of times over the years. But time marches on, and at some point I ditched all my DVDs. Now if I want to watch the series, I feel like I have to subscribe to HBO Max. Turns out I'm wrong. Right now, you can get The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition 3-Movie Bundle in 4K UHD digital on sale for $14.99. It normally runs $45, which makes this an excellent deal on a timeless classic movie trilogy.
Wednesday Have a Song Called ‘Townies.’ Townies Have One Called ‘Wednesday.’ This Is a Thing

From Lana Del Rey's "Paris, Texas" to Paris Texas's "Lana Del Rey," a head-spinning dive into one very specific type of musical palindrome
On the North Carolina-based band Wednesday’s excellent 2025 album Bleeds, one of the highlights was a song called “Townies.” Songwriter Karly Hartzman’s vivid lyrics sort through some complicated feelings about experiences from the narrator’s past. (You’ll likely hear it live if you’re in Nashville for the band’s Nov. 2 stop on the Rolling Stone Rock Tour.)

Christian-Metal Band Demon Hunter Sues Netflix Over ‘KPop Demon Hunters’
Courts
Lawsuit alleges parents have requested refunds for Demon Hunter tickets purchased for their five-year-olds
Demon Hunter, a band that formed in 2000, has filed a lawsuit against Netflix and other entities associated with the production of KPop Demon Hunters. It seems they’re worried their fans (or perhaps K-pop fans) might confuse the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning animated phenomenon with their brand of Chistian metal. They want a judge to tell Netflix to stop using the phrase KPop Demon Hunters in music releases, on DVDs, bumper stickers, wall calendars, “underclothes,” and live events, among other items.
Dishonored Creative Director Stars New Studio After Xbox Killed Arkane, Vows to Carry the Torch for Immersive Sims 'Until I Am Dead'
Decorated veteran game developer Harvey Smith (Dishonored series, original Deus Ex series), most recently of Arkane Austin – which Xbox shut down in 2024 following the failure of Redfall – has opened a new game development studio. Dubbed Black Pony Immersive, it will indeed focus on the "immersive sim" genre that Smith helped pioneer evolve through his work as co-creative director on Dishonored, creative director on Dishonored 2, and lead game designer on the original Deus Ex (which, not for nothing, this particular writer ranks as a top-10 game of all-time).
Dina Duma’s ‘Skateboarding Is Not for Girls’ Is About Much More Than Just Skateboarding
In 2022, Macedonian filmmaker Dina Duma came to the Sarajevo Film Festival with a script.
That script — about a young girl empowered by her skateboard — was so impressive that it won her the Female Voices CineLink Award during the fest’s industry program, a feat that would come with a prize of 20,000 Euros to help kickstart production.
PlayStation Reportedly Reboots Multiplayer Spinoff Horizon Hunters Gathering to Strip Out All the Live-Service Parts Following Negative Playtest Feedback
Sony has reportedly rebooted PlayStation live-service game Horizon Hunters Gathering after negative feedback from playtests.
Horizon Hunters Gathering is a multiplayer, cartoony spinoff from Guerrilla’s mainline, single-player Horizon series, which is known for its photorealistic visuals. Upon its announcement in February, Horizon Hunters Gathering was compared to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, although many questioned whether it would find an audience.
Tides of Annihilation: The First Preview
Key Preview Takeaways:
- This Arthurian-legend action-RPG leans into its King Arthur inspirations in a really impressive way.
- The two boss fights in my demo were extremely satisfying combat encounters.
- Despite the combat being fun, Gwendolyn's movement controls still need some fine-tuning.
In Tides of Annihilation it isn’t just London Bridge that’s falling down, it’s the entire city that’s been razed to ruins by an unknown presence invading from a mysterious otherworld, and you’re the only human survivor left to stop it. This action adventure heavily inspired by Arthurian legend made a serious splash when it was announced early last year, but I was initially concerned that the fast-paced slash ‘em up from first-time developer Eclipse Glow Games may have been all style over substance. However, after spending roughly two hours of hands-on time with a preview build at a recent event, I’m happy to say that Tides of Annihilation feels just as exhilarating to play as it is utterly dazzling to watch.

‘Heroes’ Creator Tim Kring Pays Tribute to Hayden Panettiere as a ‘Singularly Talented Actor’ With a ‘Deep Understanding of Human Nature’
Hayden Panettiere was a seasoned professional by the time she auditioned for “Heroes” at the age of 16.
But unlike many actors who start working as kids, Hayden had no sense of jaded child actor quality to her. Although confident in her abilities, she was still guileless, sweet and always open to suggestions. It was a fait accompli that she would embody the role of Claire Bennet, aka the Cheerleader, from the moment we met her.
