Indie developer says Steam did them a solid by fixing their unbootable game to beat the Next Fest deadline

Making a game is hard, or so I've been told by those brave enough to give it a go. Mistakes happen, and sometimes your game just doesn't work. That's what happened to the developer behind Red Flag, a social deduction game about convincing your friends you're fit to survive the apocalypse in a bunker with limited resources.

We’ve known for ages that the Steam Machine has a similar game compatibility rating system to the Steam Deck, wherein Valve tests games and slaps them with a Verified, Playable, or Unsupported sticker depending on how much they play technical ball. For the first fortnight and change of the Machine’s release, though, the results of these tests haven’t been visible – alongside the Deck verification info – on those games’ Steam store pages.

Roblox has done a lot of crossovers and collaborations, but the new one announced today really leaps out at me. The Rolling Stones, the world's greatest rock and roll band, is coming to Roblox in a new game based on the band's 60-year history.

I know. The right answer to the question in the headline is simple: whatever the developers working on it decide they want it to look like. Even though I’ve told myself that multiple times since last night’s report that the New Vegas studio have been redirected to the wasteland amid the horrible circumstances of Microsoft’s latest layoffs, I still think it’s something that’s worth any fan of Obsidian’s work pondering for themselves.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 gets first major gameplay trailer, and fans aren’t happy with a huge nerf

Following Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3's announcement in January, Bandai Namco finally delivered the first major gameplay footage for the upcoming action RPG. The trailer showcases several new game mechanics, including Soul Assists and Soul Switch, which let the player call in characters like Vegeta for a helping hand.

Rumours continue to swirl around Intel's upcoming Nova Lake launch. The latest of these comes from noted leaker Jaykihn, who has hinted towards some exciting highlights among the desktop lineup. On X, the leaker wrote, "Nova Lake-H has a 12 Xe segment, and Nova Lake-S has a 12 Xe SKU. These are Xe3p."

Bandai Namco's next anime action game is just on the horizon as it gears up for another Sword Art Online release, Echoes of Aincrad. It was one of the top played demos during Steam's most recent Next Fest, and that demo is available for those of you who can't stand to wait just a few more hours.

A Bloomberg report says Obsidian Entertainment, which was recently hit hard by mass layoffs at Xbox, has cancelled projects including a sequel to Avowed and will instead begin working on a new Fallout game.
