STALKER 2 gets serious performance and visual upgrades with its 2.0 update, testing confirms, polishing up one of the biggest flawed gems in FPS games

I don’t begrudge anyone who’s waited to try STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl until it got its technical defects fixed. They’re still wrong, obviously - an absorbing and eerily atmospheric survival FPS is still an absorbing and eerily atmospheric survival FPS when it has the structural integrity of baked beans. But it was spectacularly broken at launch, and although nearly two years of patches have swatted countless bugs and beefed up the series’ signature A-Life NPC simulation, it’s remained a heavyweight GPU-puncher on general performance.

What Car Needs To Gain Another Axle? - Jalopnik

For the most part, vehicles on the road have just two axles and four wheels in total. Sure, there are things like semi trucks, cargo vans and buses that have three or more axles, but in terms of the cars, trucks, SUVs and everything in between that regular consumers are out here buying, you're almost always stuck with only two axles. And that's a shame, because vehicles with more than two axles are just plain cool. Case in point, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 you see above, which I recently spotted in Beverly Hills and then saw driving around Monterey Car Week.

All 89 movies based on Marvel comics, ranked according to critics

It's been 40 years since audiences saw their very first theatrical movie based on a Marvel comic — would you believe that 1986's "Howard the Duck" was the first major motion picture based on a character from Marvel?

Sony has reportedly rebooted PlayStation live-service game Horizon Hunters Gathering after negative feedback from playtests.

Horizon Hunters Gathering is a multiplayer, cartoony spinoff from Guerrilla’s mainline, single-player Horizon series, which is known for its photorealistic visuals. Upon its announcement in February, Horizon Hunters Gathering was compared to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, although many questioned whether it would find an audience.

It’s only a matter of weeks until the next iPhones go on sale (here’s the date I believe the next keynote will be announced, and read this for a full run-down of everything that will happen between now and release date). But two case manufacturers are already selling what they claim will work for the new iPhone 18 Pro. Can this be right?

Tides of Annihilation: The First Preview

Key Preview Takeaways:

  • This Arthurian-legend action-RPG leans into its King Arthur inspirations in a really impressive way.
  • The two boss fights in my demo were extremely satisfying combat encounters.
  • Despite the combat being fun, Gwendolyn's movement controls still need some fine-tuning.

In Tides of Annihilation it isn’t just London Bridge that’s falling down, it’s the entire city that’s been razed to ruins by an unknown presence invading from a mysterious otherworld, and you’re the only human survivor left to stop it. This action adventure heavily inspired by Arthurian legend made a serious splash when it was announced early last year, but I was initially concerned that the fast-paced slash ‘em up from first-time developer Eclipse Glow Games may have been all style over substance. However, after spending roughly two hours of hands-on time with a preview build at a recent event, I’m happy to say that Tides of Annihilation feels just as exhilarating to play as it is utterly dazzling to watch.
