Do you ever listen to videogame music in your day-to-day life?

You know, I do a lot of prattling about videogame music at this humble website PC Gamer dot com. It's practically woven into the fabric of my very being at this point—hugely formative for me growing up, and now I carry little bits of it everywhere.

I have half a dozen VGM playlists dedicated to stuff like the gym, relaxing, and locking in at work. I've formed lifelong memories with friends as we've filled karaoke rooms with the sound of all kinds of Final Fantasy 14 tracks, where our so-called tastes in "regular" music might misalign; we're instead united by our mutual love and attachment to the songs we hear in a game.

In fact, it's so deeply entrenched into my everyday life that I can't imagine any videogame fan not listening to their favourite tunes outside of the game they came from. That is, until I was recently chatting with a friend where they told me just that: even if they really like a song in a videogame, they'll never go out of their way to listen to it detached from its origin.

So that had me wondering—how many of you actually listen to videogame music in your day-to-day life? Does it accompany you while you run errands? Do you have a playlist specifically dedicated to certain tasks or moods filled with songs from all of your favourite games? Or do you just get those random urges to listen to a videogame track that won't leave your head, leaving your YouTube or Spotify history littered with gaming-related earworms?
