Jenna Fischer, Kiernan Shipka, More Stars Support Lucy Davis Following ‘Incurable’ Cancer Diagnosis

“I’m not scared of whatever comes next,” actress said. “I’m at peace with it”
Lucy Davis, who starred in The Office and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, shared the devastating news that she has been diagnosed with an “incurable” form of Stage 4 breast cancer. In the wake of her revealing the diagnosis on Tuesday, the actress has received an outpouring of support from fellow actors and others, including Sabrina co-stars Kiernan Shipka and Miranda Otta and Edgar Wright, who directed her in Shaun of the Dead.
She revealed in an Instagram post that her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosed a year-and-a-half ago metastasized to her bones, specifically her spine, right hip, and ribs. She added that at this time, the disease was “incurable” and that it’s “too late for chemo.” Davis added that she would continue to advocate for animal rights and said, “I still would like to keep working. I’m perfectly able to do so, and acting is one of the biggest joys in my life.”
Jenna Fischer, a fellow The Office alumni, supported her in continuing to pursue work. (Davis portrayed receptionist Dawn Tinsley in the U.K. edition of the show, while Fischer played Pam Beasley, her U.S. counterpart in NBC version.) “Beautiful post. Love you lots. And yes to working with cancer!” Fischer commented. “Let’s spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort!”
In 2024, Fischer revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer the year prior. At the time, she said that after “completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation” she is now “cancer free.” She went public in part to implore you to get your annual mammograms.”
Davis’ fellow castmates from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina also offered their love and support. Shipka wrote, “I love you so much” and Otto said, “Lucy I love you. You are transcendent in all things. See you soon.” Melissa Joan Hart, who played the titular character in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, said, “Your outlook is inspiring and I’m sending you love, prayers and big hugs! And a little magic for a miracle!”
Wright, Davis’ director in Shaun of the Dead, wrote, “Love you Lucy. Always. See you very soon.”
Other acting peers, including Sarah Paulson, Stephen Moyer, Samantha Morton, and more commented on Davis’ post with words of love and encouragement.

“As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can,” she added. “I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that.”
