JK Simmons isn't thrilled about the decision to scrap the Batgirl movie.

Speaking on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Simmons reflected on his time as Commissoner Gordon in the DC universe. He technically only played him once, but that wasn't the initial plan. Zack Snyder had cast Simmons as the mustached cop in Justice League, where he had a small role and, presumably, he also would've starred in Ben Affleck's abandoned Batman film. When that fell by the wayside, he was eventually cast in Batgirl, where Michael Keaton would've reprised his role as the Caped Crusader.

For whatever reason, a bunch of video game companies are helping advertise Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The social accounts for Control, Dead by Daylight, and various gaming hardware companies such as SteelSeries have had their accounts taken over by marketing for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The long-awaited remaster/remake of the beloved Assassin's Creed game dropped today and, to apparently help spread the word, all of these accounts posted about the game. Epic Game Store also rebranded its socials by changing its profile picture and banner to feature Black Flag-themed imagery. McDonald's even chimed in as well.

Roblox has done a lot of crossovers and collaborations, but the new one announced today really leaps out at me. The Rolling Stones, the world's greatest rock and roll band, is coming to Roblox in a new game based on the band's 60-year history.

Professor Carola Lorea of the University of Tübingen's Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology has published a comprehensive academic study on the Matua, a community of 50 million people scattered across India, Bangladesh and 32 other nations in the wake of evictions and forced migration. Despite national borders and natural barriers such as the Bay of Bengal Delta, swamps and the sea, the community's cohesion has only grown over the decades. Lorea's work represents more than 10 years of field studies into Matua life, and she describes how religious songs, drum rhythms and shared stories play a vital role in Matua society and have even made a protest movement possible.

Scientists just debunked a dangerous baby rattlesnake myth

A common belief that baby rattlesnakes are more dangerous than adults has been overturned by a new study from Loma Linda University. After reviewing the history and spread of the myth, researchers concluded that bites from adult rattlesnakes are generally more dangerous because adults carry and inject much larger amounts of venom.
