There are only a few weeks left to check out some great offerings in the PlayStation Plus library. As July comes to a close, Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed via the PlayStation Store which games will be leaving the Extra and Premium tiers of the service next month. There are nine games on the list, and a good number of them are absolutely worth playing before time is up.

The standout is Unicorn Overlord. Atlus released the Vanillaware-developed tactical role-playing game in 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. The game is perfect for fans of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy: Tactics thanks to its incredibly complex systems and inventive battles. The story isn't much to write home about, but you won't mind when the gameplay feels as good as it does. Unicorn Overlord was also a commercial hit for Vanillaware, becoming the studio's fastest-selling title.

Another title worth experiencing before it leaves PlayStation Plus is Harold Halibut. The 2024 adventure game made headlines prior to its release due to its hand-crafted stop-motion visuals, which contributed to a 10-year development. The game's world has a charming oddity to it and the story goes to some emotionally poignant places. If you are looking for a game that feels truly unique, this is the one for you.

Dead Island 2 is also leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Although the zombie-slaying action RPG felt pretty out of date when it was released in 2023, it is hard to deny there is a visceral type of joy in mindlessly mowing down undead mobs. While it is still included in PlayStation Plus, try spending half an hour in Dead Island 2's world to experience some simple fun.

Following the usual update schedule, these titles will be removed on the third Tuesday of the month. That means you have until Aug. 18 to try them out. You can find them in the "Last chance to play" section at the very bottom of the collections tab in the PlayStation Plus menu.
