NATO aircraft shoot down drone over Latvia, which blames 'Russian electromagnetic warfare'

NATO fighters shot down a drone over eastern Latvia on Friday, the country's armed forces said, in an incident authorities linked to "Russian electromagnetic warfare."

The drone was destroyed over the Balvi region by aircraft taking part in NATO's Baltic Air patrol mission. Latvia said airspace alerts were issued across several eastern and southern regions and lifted at 4:50 a.m. local time.

YouTube announced on Monday the first significant changes to its YouTube Partner Program, or YPP, since 2018. From February 1, 2027, new applicants will need 8,000 qualified watch hours over the previous 365 days, or 20 million qualified Shorts views over the previous 90 days, to share in advertising and Premium subscription revenue. Both figures are double YouTube’s current thresholds. The subscriber requirement remains 1,000.
